Rich User Experience
Eyeball provides a rich user experience through simple intuitive user interface to a comprehensive on-demand feature-set for today’s mobile phone users. Presence enabled phone-book provides a context for user communication and users feel connected before dialling and/or sending a message asking how their buddies are doing. Dynamic update of presence and mode enables personalization and awareness that creates more communications such as calls and chats. Easy way to share pictures and video with friends is increasingly getting popular.
Phone software may be installed and configured over-the-air (OTA) by sending a simple SMS to the server or visiting a mobile URL. User’s phone number and model details are automatically detected and the traditional phone book entries are added to the presence-enabled phone-book dynamically. Eyeball MSM supports nine languages such as English, Chinese (traditional and simplified), Brazilian, Portuguese, French, Italian, Spanish, German and Russian. Support for other languages be may added on request.
Interoperability with Major IM Communities and Social Networking
Eyeball MSM also supports online communications to popular IM communities such as AOL, MSN, GoogleTalk and Yahoo, support operator-run online communities and access/update of social networking communities such as Facebook.
Standard-based Global Interoperability
Eyeball MSM Server is based on open standards from IETF, OMA and 3GPP in order to guarantee interoperable service among operators around the world using solutions from vendors such as Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco, Ericsson, Huawei, NSN, Nokia and Samsung. Standard-support includes IETF/OMA SIP/SIMPLE, MSRP, SMPP, USSD and XMPPP. Standards-based inter-operator and inter-vendor interoperability is a key for the success of GSMA RCS 1.0 initiative.
Eyeball MSM Server Interoperates with existing mobile solutions such as SMS and MMS, and supports online/offline status integration with existing infrastructure and solutions. This can be integrated with existing pre-paid and post-paid billing models as well as existing provisioning and customer support system.
Server Scalability and Robustness
The MSM Server is built with a modular and scalable design for carrier-class deployments. The system is implemented in C/C++ for highest performance, and supports clustering, load-balancing and fault-tolerance.
Web-based Administration and Monitoring
Web-based tools are available for server administration such as monitoring service load, usage statistics, and management of account settings and privileges. Additional features include access & error logging with multiple verbosity levels, text based server configuration file and command line interface for administration.
Eyeball MSM ensures widest possible market coverage by supporting variety of phones with or without data-pans. For phones without data-plans, the features are delivered using SMS/MMS messages or via USSD protocol.
